I launched this project in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. For me, and I am sure for many others, it was a time of deep reflection, a time of finding gratitude. It was also a time that made us painfully aware of the deepening inequalities that exist on so many levels of society.
This project is near and dear to my heart. As long as I can remember, I have volunteered, raised money, raised awareness for causes that move me. The environment, human rights, education, youth empowerment, victims’ rights, animals, homelessness, hunger, health, art – the list is long. For much of my career, I fundraised for a variety of powerful nonprofits. And have been in awe of the work of so many others. It is in my DNA.
