Welcome to Maplewood
One of the Coolest Suburbs in America
Maplewood is noted for charming, tree-lined neighborhoods, gorgeous homes, and a village vibe. Residents love the quick commute to New York City, diversity, quaint downtown, thriving artistic community, and progressive values. Maplewood is community-focused, cultured, and family-friendly -- and a big draw for people migrating from nearby cities. Apartment Therapy dubbed the town one of the “coolest suburbs in America.” South Orange is Maplewood’s sister town; the two towns are known locally as SOMA or MAPSO.
Maplewood is 3.88 square miles.
FUN FACT: The New York Times described Maplewood as one the "least suburban of suburbs, celebrated by buyers for its culture and hip factor, as much as the housing stock and sophisticated post-city life."
